You ask and I shall answer

1. What are your prices/what is included in the package?

Please see the appropriate tab on the right side of this page for information.

2. What should we bring/wear for the engagement session?

  • I ask people to wear clothes that make them feel comfortable and confident. To look great in the pictures you need to feel great too.

  • It would be best if you could stay away from prints, logos, patterns, etc. Solid-coloured clothes work best. You could even do matching outfits for the "awe, how cute!" reaction.

  • If you are interested in giving the impression that you had different photo sessions done, be sneaky with layers! Wear a light sweater (weather permitting) and a t-shirt underneath. Ladies, changing up your jewellery helps too.

  • Please don't forget the ring(s)!!! Bring any props that will personalize your photos. I have yet to find a couple that would bring their hockey sticks.

3. What should I prepare for my newborn (up to 15 months) in-home session?

  • Any sentimental items you might want in the photos (eg. grandma's hand-woven blanket, mommy's wedding ring, family rattle)

  • Those adorable onesies, bibs, shoes, hats, ... You will have time for at least two outfits (or for the lack of outfits, if you want birthday suit photos). Babies are allowed to wear small print. :)

  • Those lovely teddy bears and toys they have.

  • Three or four large towels (preferrably of the same colour).

  • Any blankets baby might need - the fuzzier, the better!

4. How long will the session take?

Portrait sessions (child, family, couple) usually range between 1-3 hours, however we could tweak the norm to fit your lifestyle and schedules. Just be sure to let me know ahead of time.

The only package that depends on the amount of time required is the wedding package. No bronze, silver, or golds here - every part of your event that we agreed upon will be photographed.

I am willing to work between 0-10 hours, and will not charge per hour for any required overtime.

5. Do we need to supply you with seating or food at our wedding?

A full Mariya is a happy Mariya. I will definitely be able to work my best if food is provided at lengthy weddings. Your guests will most likely appreciate not having their photos taken while they are eating anyway. :)

Storage, to which guests do not have access, would be appreciated but is not necessary.

Although I do not spend much of the time sitting, a chair or two would be great, even if it is just to put down my things.

6. How long will we have to wait to receive our photo disc?

Usually, your photo disc should be done in 2-4 weeks. This depends on my schedule, and I will keep you updated. If you need your disc as soon as humanly possible, you will need to inform me of your situation before the photo session to ensure your satisfaction.

You will also be able to preview select photos a few days after the session on this website's photo gallery.

7. How will we get our disc?

After you receive my e-mail stating that your disc is finished (yay!), you will have two options:

  • You could pick up the disc
  • You could have it mailed to you for $5 (price may vary with distance)

8. When do we pay?

It is your choice when to pay for the photo session. After the photo session or when you are picking up your disc is fine by me.

9. Where can we get our photos printed?

Since you receive printing rights with your disc, you will be able to take your disc to any photo studio and select the pictures you like.

10. Is there any guarantee, if we did not like any of the photos?

Absolutely! If you do not like what you see, I will be willing to schedule another photo session with you up to a year from your first session for free. I would appreciate any feedback and ideas from you, to allow me to customize the next photo shoot, ensuring your satisfaction.

11. Is it possible to pre-pay a photo session for someone as a gift?

You bet! Just let me know who the lucky person or people are. It is also possible to pre-pay a part of the session fees as a gift.

12. Are you able to do trash-the-dress or boudoir photos?

I am willing to explore various styles of photography; however, I will not do nude photography. Please contact me for further information and quotes.

13. What if I did not find the answer to my question here?

I would love to fix that problem! Just contact me and I will e-mail or phone you back, hopefully with an answer.
